A Norwich School District bus driver sure was on the ball on the morning of April 26 when she prevented what could have been a tragedy.  According to the Norwich City School District, bus driver Samantha Call was stopped on State Route 12 at 10:44 a.m. The bus' stop arm was out and the vehicle's red lights were flashing, indicating that riders were disembarking.  Unfortunately a driver in a car decided to speed past the bus and quick-thinking Call grabbed a student that was about to exit into the roadway, preventing what could have been a tragic accident.

NCSD Transportation Supervisor William Loomis stated, "Samantha did an outstanding job. All of our drivers undergo continuous training so they're prepared to handle situations like this. We hope this video helps everyone to realize the dangers of passing a stopped school bus."
