A fireman from Norwich is a member of the largest class of recruits graduating from New York State's Fire Academy according to Governor Cuomo's Office. Daniel Kerila was among the 57 firemen graduating Friday at the State Office of Fire Prevention and Control’s Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. The program is 11 weeks long, and includes more than 500 hours of intense training that exceeds the state’s minimum standards for firefighter personnel. This is the 75th class to graduate from the academy which started in 1984.
