New Local Scam Alert Using DMV

A new scam alert for you that has been posted by all of the local police agencies…if you received a text message saying your action is required saying "NYDMV Update your contact information". DO NOT respond or comply with it. This is a very well disguised and deceitful attempt to steal your name, date of birth and social security number.

DELETE or BLOCK the number from your phone ASAP. The legitimate NYS MY DMV page at my.ny.gov requires you to sign in with an established username and password. If you have submitted your information to this fraudulent website contact the following organizations for guidance and/or assistance: Social Security and the Federal Trade Commission, or your local county sheriffs office.
