A Town of New Lisbon man was arrested for selling, growing and possessing marijuana following a 2012 narcotics investigation that was conducted by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Oneonta Police Department Detective Bureau with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Agency.

In January 2012, marijuana was purchased from 26-year-old James Michael Longcor, Jr., of Mount Vision, through the use of a confidential informant. In May 2012, investigators, detectives and DEA Albany special agents searched Longcor, Jr’s residence and seized the following items:

  • 70 marijuana plants in various stages of growth
  • Approximately ten and half ounces of processed marijuana valued at $3,500
  • An electronic scale
  • $200 hundred in currency

Longcor, Jr. surrendered himself at the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office last week. He is charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a third degree felony, growing of cannabis by an unlicensed person, a misdemeanor, and criminal sale of marijuana, a fourth degree misdemeanor.

Longcor, Jr. faces up to 1.5 years in state prison on the felony possession charge and up to another year in the county jail on his sales charge.

Assistant District Attorney William Green is prosecuting the case.
