Delaware County Sheriff's Investigators have arrested a Jason Wilsey, of Davenport, on a Sealed Indictment charging him with the A-1 felony offense of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree.

On Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013, Delaware County Sheriff's Investigators arrested 33-year-old Wilsey upon his surrender with his attorney. Wilsey was arraigned before County Court Judge Becker and posted bail which was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

The indictment and arrest are the result of a nearly two-year investigation conducted by members of the Delaware and Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Divisions, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Albany, and other area law enforcement agencies, into the source and sale of pharmaceutical Oxycodone powder in Otsego, Delaware and surrounding counties since approximately 2010.

Oxycodone powder is a narcotic drug manufactured by Covidien and is an active ingredient utilized in the production of prescription pain medication. Wilsey is accused of selling more than two ounces of Oxycodone on December 21. Wilsey was employed by Covidien’s Hobart, manufacturing facility at that time.

The investigation revealed that Wilsey allegedly was the source of approximately five ounces of Oxycodone powder seized by members of the Delaware and Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and DEA during the execution of a Search Warrant at the residence of his brother, Robert Wilsey, on December 21, 2012.

Robert Wilsey was arrested by Delaware County Sheriff's Investigators on December 21, 2012 and charged with the class A-II felony offense of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree following the execution that Search Warrant.

The investigation also revealed that Jason Wilsey was allegedly a source of Oxycodone powder distributed by Dante Major who was recently sentenced to 55 years to life, as well as fined $260,000, in Otsego County Court for the crime of Operating as a Major Trafficker.
