It's time to get philosophical because that's what the following event comes down to.  It's a question of what you believe in so let's find out where you stand on how educators treat our children.

Here's the case in question:  Massachusetts Principal, David Fabrizio, of Ipswich Middle School, went so far as to cancel the school's Honors Night because he felt it could be "devastating" to the students who worked hard, but fell short of the grades. Fabrizio sent home a letter to parents stating: "The Honors Night, which can be a great sense of pride for the recipients' families, can also be devastating to a child who has worked extremely hard in a difficult class but who, despite growth, has not been able to maintain a high grade-point average."
