Otsego County, New York Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect following an investigation into a structure fire in the Town of New Lisbon. The investigation determined that the suspect deliberately set fire to a garage owned by a relative. The fire quickly engulfed the structure, prompting a response from multiple fire departments and first responders.
Once the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered approximately thirteen vehicles that had sustained severe damage or were completely destroyed. In addition to the vehicles, numerous items and pieces of machinery were also lost in the fire.
During the suspect's arrest, authorities found approximately 6 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The individual was processed and is currently being held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility, awaiting Centralized Arraignment. The Otsego County District Attorney’s Office was consulted, and a no-bail recommendation was made.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services, as well as volunteers from the Mount Vision, West Laurens, Garrattsville, Morris, and Edmeston Fire Departments.
