Delaware County Sheriff's Investigators arrested a 40-year-old Stamford woman Monday following a heroin trafficking investigation.

Kelly Abbes, also known as Kelly Zimmerman, was initially arrested and charged with 3rd degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and 4th degree Conspiracy. Following a search of her residence by Sheriff’s investigators, Sheriff’s K-9 “Ozzie” and Stamford troopers, Abbes was also charged with Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Abbes is accused of selling heroin in the Village of Stamford earlier this year and then conspiring to obtain and sell additional heroin last week.

Abbes was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and was ordered held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.

As a result of this investigation and arrest, Abbes was subsequently arrested on a warrant issued Monday afternoon by the New York State Division of Parole charging her with Violation of Parole.
