Delaware County Sheriff Warns of New Phone Scam

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond issued a reminder to never give out personal information over the phone after he was made aware of a phone scam in Montgomery County where a man calls identifying himself as that county’s sheriff then says he has an arrest warrant that can be taken care of by purchasing various gift cards and read the cards’ numbers over the phone. DuMond says his office will never ask for financial information over the phone.
