It is hard to imagine to sheer elation that took place 68-years ago this week in France.  For the French it meant that their long dark night under the heel of Hitler's army was over.  For America it meant that we were one step closer to ending a war that emptied our small towns and factories and sent our men and women around the world in the most noble fight of our young nation's history.

Yes, the liberation of Paris was a day to remember for the country of France.  I hope somebody raised the stars and stripes over there today and said "Thank you."
