At a year end press conference last week, Governor Andrew Cuomo answered questions from the press and spent much of the conference talking about how the state state has made great strides in its recovery efforts over the last two years.

Governor Cuomo credits the ongoing comeback of the state to the competent people in his administration who work very hard.

"We work as a team; we work as a unit," Cuomo said. "More than a government report and more than what we think we did, the people get it and the people feel it. We've made a difference in the state. You can read it in a poll of the optimism of the state and that people feel it is headed in the right direction."

Cuomo said he accomplished what he set out to accomplish, but in many ways the goal keeps changing . The rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy is a challenge the state hasn’t had in modern political history.
