COVID-19, economic recovery and social injustice were among the topics covered by Governor Andrew Cuomo in his State of the State address on Monday (watch below). Cuomo said the coronavirus has residents hurt, frustrated and anxious over the many hardships and mourning the lives taken in the past year.

State Senator Peter Oberacker issued a statement saying the state needs to reset the economy, assist small businesses and ensure local governments and schools are able to provide needed services without raising taxes. Oberacker also said, "I came to Albany to work for the people of my district and fight for our shared values.  Today was just the start of the process, and I look forward to vigilantly reviewing the full details of the governor’s plan.  I will support proposals that help those I represent and oppose those that fail."
