COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Just Expanded Again
New York State just expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine. Beginning today (March 30) those 30 and older can get the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Governor Cuomo's Office, eligibility will expand further starting April 6 with those 16 years of age and older becoming eligible to receive the vaccine. Statewide, more than 9 million total doses have been administered across all vaccination sites with more than 2 million doses administered at New York State-run and FEMA-assisted mass vaccination sites. So far close to 30% of New Yorkers have at least one vaccine dose with nearly 17% receiving both doses.
To begin the process of getting your vaccine, go on-line to am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov, then click "Get started" to schedule your vaccine appointment at the state-run location of your choosing. For our region, the closest state-run site is at SUNY Oneonta. It takes about 10 minutes to register.
