An investigation by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office at the Norwich Motor Lodge in mid-March has resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Shane Manwarren.

He has been charged with Harassment in the 2nd Degree (2 counts), Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.

During the course of the investigation at the Norwich Motor Lodge, Manwarren allegedly shoved a police officer and resisted arrest damaging a patrol vehicle. During a foot chase police say he attempted to dispose of heroin, prescription medication, and a hypodermic needle. All items were later recovered and he was found to be in possession of more heroin.

Manwarren was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
