Caulkins Powers OHS to Section 4 Title

Michael Caulkins smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie it and Mark Giallanzo scored off a single from Chris Pindar to give the Yellow Jackets an 11-10 come-from-behind win over Chenango Valley in the Section 4 Class B title game.

It avenged last season's loss to the Warriors in the sectional championship.

The Yellow Jackets will head to the state tournament for the third time under coach and athletic director Joe Hughes. Oneonta hadn't won a Section 4 title since 2002.

Giallanzo was credited with the win on the mound after Caulkins was knocked out of the game.
