Did You Know Binghamton University Has A Program That Creates Race Cars?
Did you know that Binghamton University has a team that conceptualizes and builds a Formula-One-style car? They are Binghamton Motorsports Formula SAE and I first found out about this group, several years ago. I was doing a broadcast and the Formula One type car was on display.
While I was there, I had a chance to chat with one of the team members that helped to create the car. It was fascinating to hear about what they did to complete and then compete in an upcoming showcase.
The Binghamton Motorsports team is a collegiate racing team that falls under the Binghamton University chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Every year they create an in-house, competitive formula internal combustion engine vehicle.
It must meet certain requirements and technical specifications that are outlined by SAE International. The students are on different teams that come together as one Formula Internal Combustion team.
Binghamton Motorsports has done it and they've unveiled their new car named Rose II.
Team members have put in many hours and provided everything that is required. They are traveling to Michigan for the Formula SAE event. They are going to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Michigan from May 18th through May 22nd.
Good luck to all the team members as they travel to Michigan for this Formula SAE event.
