Shriners Hospital Brings Benefit Antique Show to Binghamton

In 1922, construction began on the very first Shriners Hospital for Children. Today, there are 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children spread through the United States, and to date, those hospitals have served “more than 1.4 million children, regardless of the families ability to pay.”

Shriners Hospitals for Children provide medical care for children in the United States, Canada, and Mexico who have orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate. According to its website, 85 percent of every single penny raised by the Shriners is put back into medical care for children, research, and education.

For 37 years, the Binghamton Sertoma Club hosted an event called the Million Dollar Antique Show which was a fundraiser for Camp Sertoma. However, following the 2019 Million Dollar Antique Show, the Binghamton Sertoma Club made the difficult decision to discontinue the show.

In 2022, the Million Dollar Antique Show is returning but this year, it has a new name and a new mission. The Million Dollar Antique Show will now be known as the Binghamton Shriners Antique Show and the show will support both the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Massachusetts as well as local Shriners organizations.

The Binghamton Shiners Antique Show will take place Saturday, April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the SUNY Broome Ice Center at 907 Upper Front Street in Binghamton. Admission rates apply.
