Apply For a Free Trip to Mars in 2018

Have you ever had a space travel fantasy?  It used to be that only a very special few astronauts were allowed into outer space but now a spot has been opened up for two people, preferably a husband and wife, to take the first manned mission to Mars in 2018.

The Mars Inspiration Foundation is taking applications now and they are pouring in.  The flight would be a 501-day flyby to the red planet and back.  Why then?  Because that's when Earth and Mars in close enough positions to make this trip possible.  The next opportunity is coming up until 2031 so the time is now.

Still interested in climbing on board?  If you can being with someone in a space about the size of an RV for that long, breathing recycled air, and only eating dehydrated food and here's the kicker: drinking your own purified urine then this could be the trip of a lifetime!  Sounds like quite the party, right?  Not to me, but of course you would make the history books if you were part of the mission.  Would your marriage survive such a trip?  I'd be worried more about just making it back alive, but apparently there are plenty of people lined up for this unique opportunity who are willing to take that risk.  Will you be one of them?
