The March Madness of TV themes songs just wrapped up on Yahoo.com to find out America's favorite TV theme song of all time.  It was set up in bracket style and started with 32 shows with the idea of whittling the choices down to a final four and ultimately the winner.  The overwhelming winner was the theme song from "Gilligan's Island."  That beat out popular theme songs to "Diff'rent Strokes," "The Addams Family," "The Andy Griffith Show", and "Cheers".

I have to say that out of any show I can think of "Gilligan's Island" would be my favorite too.  What's yours?  Answer on our Facebook page.

Here’s a bit of trivia for you. In the first season of "Gilligan's Island", the theme song was different: the song went, "... a movie star, and the rest, here on Gilligan's Isle." (Listen below) Bob Denver demanded that the studio re-do the song to add "the Professor and Mary Ann" to the theme song. The studio didn’t want to do that, claiming that it would be too expensive. Bob Denver came back at them with the threat that if The Professor and Mary Ann weren’t added, then he wanted his name taken out of the song. When all was said and done, the producers caved and had the theme song re-sung.  Check out the theme song below.
