Last Friday evening at 7pm, hundreds of thousands of New York City residents across five boroughs took to open windows, and door stoops to clap, cheer, and make noise to honor and celebrate essential workers, those on the "front line" of the coronavirus pandemic (healthcare workers, sanitation workers, grocery store employees, truck drivers, delivery workers, etc.). What an amazing moment!

New York City is one hardest hit cities for COVID-19.

Karla Otto, international public relations agency, announced this homage last Thursday with the hashtag #ClapBecauseWeCare. Many posted videos of the cheering event but this one from The Guardian is my favorite because it really shows what a big effort this was!
