I've had some issues lately with my computer getting slow and freezing up.  I've had to reboot it every day to get it to operate better.  Needless to say, I decided to do some investigation on what can help.

I performed a "disk cleanup" and "defragging" of my hard drive.  Those helped minimally  Then I got a tip from a computer savvy friend about cleaning out the dust from inside my PC.  Apparently, it's not as simple as opening up the outer case to your desktop computer and vacuuming it out.  It's not a good idea to use a regular vacuum due to the creation of static electricity which can fry your motherboard.  According to Howtogeek.com, you can take your PC outside and use compressed air to blow the dust out. The dust is detrimental to your PC, mostly from a heat perspective.  Dust can prevent the internal fan from keeping things cool enough inside the computer.

Of course if I'm going to do this, I need to wait for a day when it's not going to rain.  That could be tricky given the next few days of predicted rain.
