Ballot Proposal No. 1

This ballot measure is a proposed amendment to Article 8, section 4 of the New York State Constitution. It would eliminate the constitutional debt limit placed on small city school districts. A “small city school district” is a city with fewer than 125,000 people.

In Otsego County, voters chose yes with 5,921 votes, with no votes coming in at 3,997.

Ballot Proposal No. 2

This ballot measure proposes an amendment to Article 8, section 5 of the New York State Constitution. It would extend for 10 more years the authority of counties, cities, towns, and villages to exclude from their constitutional debt limits any debt incurred for the construction of sewage facilities.

In Otsego County, voters chose yes with 6,367 votes, with no votes coming in at  3,510.

State Supreme Court Justice, 6th Judicial District

In the race between Democrat Dierdre Hay and Republican Cheryl Insinga for the 6th Judicial District's Supreme Court spot, Insinga won with 5,571 votes over Hay's 4,646 votes.

Otsego County Clerk

After a spirited race, Republican Jennifer Basile defeated Democrat MacGuire in the race for Otsego County Clerk. Basile received 6,319 votes over Benton's 4,503.

District Attorney

Running unopposed, incumbent DA John Muehl retains his post, receiving 8,164 votes.

County Representative

County Representatives from the 1st through 14th districts ran unopposed with the exception of the 11th district. In that contest, Democrat Nora Mendez defeated Republican Paul Ahearn 369 votes to 127 votes.
