What began as a vandalism hate crime that shook Oneontans and surrounding communities, is now turning into a testament of character and support for those who love where we live and the quality of life it represents for families.

This morning, Townsquare Media stations WZOZ 103.1FM, WSRK 103.9FM, and WDOS-AM730 all simulcasted a live Radio-a-thon to help the Oneonta Little League recover from a horrible act of vandalism this past Saturday night.

The out-pouring from community members from all around and even across the country was far beyond what anyone's expectations were.  Our fundraising goal was $3000 and when 10:00am hit and the Radio-a-thon was over, the total raised was $10,077 and the phones at the station were still ringing! Oneonta Little League President, Bill Erario was speechless at the generosity of the radio listeners.

Several past and present Oneonta Little League players and coaches stopped in to share stories, expressing over and over the wonderful value of participation in that program, as being much more than playing a sport.  Shared memories of fun, learning life skills, and treasured friends kept coming up, over and over again.
