My Strange Cat Phenomenon

Here's a riddle for you involving my cat, Mitzi but I need to tell you a bit about her personality first.  She's about a year and a half old and not exactly a lap cat.  She likes to be petted but she's certainly not over the top when it comes to seeking affection.  She likes to lay around in different places in the house and doesn't seem to have one favorite spot.  So here's the weird thing that's been happening for a while now: every time in the evening, when my husband and I are watching TV, as soon as the show ends, she hops up on my husband's lap.  Keep in mind, she is typically laying somewhere else in the room the whole time, but as soon as the show ends, the TV isn't even off yet, she jumps right up to receive her strokes.  How does she know?  It's bizarre.  It's not a question of her body clock telling her anything because the shows end at different times each night since we have a DVR.  I find myself scratching my head over this one.  The funniest part is that she could get all kinds of loving pets if she would jump up while we're watching the show as opposed to when it's over and we're ready for bed.  What a crazy cat!
