Housing and Legal Service Groups to Get $60 Million in Funding
Attorney general Eric Schneiderman announced this week that 59 housing counseling groups and 35 legal service organizations will be awarded funds under the attorney general’s Home Ownership Protection Program [HOPP].
The program will fund services for homeowners over a three year period for a total of $60 million. The first year will fund 35 legal services organizations and 59 housing counseling agencies with $16.1 million to provide free foreclosure prevention services.
An additional $3.9 million will go for training, technical assistance and other support services to assist homeowners in foreclosure.
