Have you ever had a fabulous lucid dream?  You know, the kind where you are completely aware that you are dreaming and it's the kind of dream you don't want to wake from.  I can only remember having that happen once or twice in my life and it was amazing!  Now, imagine that you are not only aware that you are dreaming but that you are completely controlling the dream and the outcome?  Sounds fabulous doesn't it?  Apparently, it's no longer a dream to have that dream.  Duncan Frazier and Steve McGuigan of Brooklyn, NY claim that they have built a sleeping mask - the kind that covers your eyes - with little red LED lights that are supposed to make your brain aware that you are dreaming. The LED lights are too faint to wake the sleeper up, but visible enough for the brain to register them. Here is how it is supposed to work: - Say you are in your boss' office, and you see a pattern of red lights flashing in the distance. Your brain would register the red lights and make you realize that you are in a dream. You can then decide what happens next, like your boss giving you a significant raise.  Frazier said that he uses his mask several times a week, but he admits that reaching a state of lucidity can be hard and does not happen every time. The sleep masks are available for pre-order on the Kickstarter website.
