It's a dream come true for Jason Young, a Jimi Hendrix tribute artist who is part of the Woodstock Era Experience show coming to the Oneonta Theatre on July 3rd at 8pm, sponsored by WZOZ 103.1fm.

Born and raised in Westchester County NY, Jason Young began playing music at age 7 and found the guitar at age 10. Only it was right handed. Finally at 14 he switched the guitar upside down and it was a match made in heaven. Playing in numerous bands through high school allowed him to gain invaluable stage experience which led to greater things in college. Attending SUNY Albany Jason studied music. In 1993 he was a founding member of the band Yellowdog which he is still a member today. Throughout the late 90's and early 2000's he toured the Northeast and beyond with funk greats Smokehouse Prophets. Some of his influences include great artists such as; Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Dicky Betts, as well as lesser known Eddie Hazel and Vernon Reid. With over 2000 live performances under his belt Jason brings charisma and electricity to any stage. As for his recreating of Hendrix in the Woodstock Era Experience, Jason says, "It's an honor to be performing in this show as one of my heroes Jimi Hendrix. I hope he is smiling at me when I play. It gives me a really good feeling to play the music from that era in a show of this Magnitude”. His music library can be found in the archives of Clambone records and the studios of YD productions.
