Here's a surprising finding from a new study from Norway that compared couples who share housework, compared to those where the women do the bulk of the work around the house.  The study is titled "Equality in the Home" and found that couples who share the housework are more likely to divorce - about 50 percent more likely - than when the woman does the majority of the chores.

Thomas Hansen, co-author of the study, says, "Maybe it's sometimes seen as a good thing to have very clear roles with lots of clarity ... where one person is not stepping on the other's toes. There could be less quarrels, since you can easily get into squabbles if both have the same roles and one has the feeling that the other is not pulling his or her own weight."

So this begs the question ladies, are we so picky about how the job gets done that we'd rather do it ourselves?  What do you think?  I think it does help when couples have defined roles.  Less to argue about and there's certainly value in that.  Then again, no one likes to be the one to do the bulk of the work.
