The Oneonta Common Council is considering a number of fare increases and adjustments for services provided by Oneonta Public Transit. These adjustments do not affect regular routes inside the City of Oneonta.

The price adjustments are necessitated by the increasing costs of fuel and maintaining the aging fleet of city buses. The increases will go into effect in mid-January. There have been no increases since 2009.

The funding for replacements is provided by the federal government and is being deferred for Oneonta and other similar communities. A public informational meeting will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at city hall.
