Attempted Murder Charges Filed in Norwich
The Norwich Police Department says a 33 year old Greene man has been charged with 2nd degree attempted murder. Authorities say New York State Department of Corrections employee Wayne Spratley (above) allegedly shot a man in the vicinity of Lackawanna Ave. in Norwich around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, and from there, to University Hospital in Syracuse where the victim is listed in critical condition. Spratley was arraigned in Chenango County Court and ordered held at the Chenango County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or bond. The investigation is ongoing.
