I recently received a Thank you card from the Oneonta Chapter of the DAR for helping them to get the word out about a golf tournament they were doing.  I very rarely receive a Thank you card so it immediately made me smile.  It got me thinking about Thank you cards and how unusual it seems for anyone to bother sending them.  I remember that when I was growing up, 3o plus years ago, my mother made a big deal out of sending Thank you cards.  As kids, my siblings and I were expected to always send Thank you cards for any gifts received throughout the year.

I have carried on that tradition in my own house my children because I know how it feels to receive a card in the mail.  It's awesome!  Considering that most of the mail we get is catalogs, bills, or other junk mail, the occasional card is a guaranteed smile.  Keep that in mind the next time you are considering an e-card or a card you need to send in the mail.  Send the card in the mail.  People appreciate that so much more.
