We have a unique problem at our house, at least for our family.  Last night, much to my husband's great surprise, we discovered a raccoon in our shed.  He's so obviously comfortable and established there that I'm not sure we'll be able to get him to permanently leave.  My husband was on "raccoon patrol" last night, camped out with a snack and camera to wait out the raccoon, hoping to see him leave the shed and then close the shed door so that he wouldn't go back in.  Little did we know what a losing battle we were involved in.  Turns out, after doing some research on racoons, they are very intelligent and are big diggers.  They can pretty much get into any structure if they want to.

My prediction?  Mr. Raccoon wins until we call Oneonta Animal Control (607-432-6365) to help us out.  Then he'll have to find himself someone else's nice, cozy shed to reside in.
