A Morris, NY woman is facing federal charges for embezzling over $22,000 from the Morris School District. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office the woman identified as 47-year-old Kristina Hand took the money while she served as the district’s treasurer in 2018 and 2019, taking checks made out to the school district. If convicted, Hand faces up to 10 years in prison, a maximum $250,000 fine, and up to 3 years of post-imprisonment supervised release.
