If you used to be a patron at Nick's Diner on Chestnut Street in Oneonta years ago and became excited a few years back when you found out that it was returning to the original, remodeled building, only to become disappointed when you noticed that renovation work came to a halt, take hope.

The City of Oneonta may end up awarding a Community Development Block Grant of $230,000 to realize the reopening of Nick's Diner and the creation of 15.5 full time jobs.  Tonight at a public hearing in city Council Chambers, council members will discuss applications for this grant for 2018.

Considering the history and how many people enjoyed Nick's Diner all those years ago, I think it would be wonderful to see it reopened as an enjoyed part of Oneonta's history.
