Wife of Disappeared Laurens Man Arrested For Murder
After disappearing for two years, the remains of Michael Shaver of Laurens, NY were found in the backyard of his and his wife's home in Clermont, Florida. According to AllOTSEGO, his wife, Laurie Leigh Shaver has been was charged with second-degree Homicide (domestic violence) and Accessory After the Fact to second-degree Homicide in connection with the death of Michael Shaver.
Shaver's disappearance wasn't discovered until February 2018 when his friends requested a well-being check on him with the help of Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies who were unable to locate him. Laurie Shaver refused to allow police to utilize a dog to search the property for Michael. After a search warrant was obtained in March of 2018 and the property search, human remains were found buried under a concrete slab in the backyard. Those remains were confirmed to be that of Michael Shaver in June of that year and the cause of death ruled as a homicide.
Laurie Shaver was arrested yesterday morning at her home in Okahumpka, Fla. without incident and she is being held without bail.
