When Children Are a Parent’s Worst Nightmare

You know what these young men are? A parent’s worst nightmare, that’s what!

I can barely stand to watch my boys going up the great climbing tree in my front yard -- and I say that as someone who was a champion tree-climber in my youth (with a concussion or two to show for it).

But what these young Russians risk isn’t a bump on the head or a broken arm as they climb to the top of the world’s tallest buildings without any safety equipment. It’s their lives they’re putting on the line. And their parents’ hearts.

Take a look at this video. (If you have a fear of heights, it just might give you nightmares.) Risking their lives is their hobby. And if I was one of their mothers, they’d be grounded for the rest of their lives. And those lives would be much longer because of it.

But I must be honest. No matter how much it scares and worries me, I can’t turn away from this video. It’s absolutely engrossing. And terrifying.
