As things have loosened up considerably on the war against the coronavirus, vaccination sites have also become more accessible.  From the "early days" of vaccinations in the pandemic, where age restrictions dictated who could get a vaccine and where you could go to get one (usually far away), now there are even pop-up vaccination sites coming to our area.  And one is happening tonight is Sidney.

The UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich will host a walk-in pop-up vaccination site at the Awestruck Cider Tap Room in Sidney today (Friday, April 29) from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm.

In a press release from UHS Memorial Hospital they said, "“We’re excited to partner with our new friends at Awestruck Cider on what will be our first walk-in clinic,” said David Finney, Vice President of Clinical Services at UHS Chenango Memorial.

“We feel their Tap Room in Sidney will be the perfect place to test what we hope will be a successful new model for us, as we move into this next phase of the vaccination effort.”

If you would like to reserve a spot you can do so by calling Awestruck Tap Room at 607-232-1143.  But this is also a walk-in pop-up vaccination site and no reservations are required.

UHS Memorial Hospital will return to Awestruck in Sidney again on Thursday, May 27 to administer the second vaccine dose to those who receive the Moderna vaccine at today's event.

Other pop-up clinics have been seen throughout the area recently, including the First Baptist Church in Afton, delivering second doses to those they vaccinated at their very first pop-up clinic in late March, an event made possible through a collaboration with Commerce Chenango.

Those interested in scheduling an appointment at one of UHS Chenango Memorial’s upcoming vaccine clinics, call do so by calling the CMH COVID Vaccine Line at (607) 337-4888.
