Do you have a love to get your hands in the soil and a caring heart?  Then the United Way of Delaware Counties wants you!  The United Way is spearheading "Little Garden, Big Help!" on Friday June 14 in Delhi at the Courthouse Square Gazebo and then on Friday, June 21 in Oneonta's Neahwa Park at the large pavillion.  Volunteers will gather from 3:00pm to 5:00pm for a "Day of Action", potting vegetable plants in containers which will produce food to be donated to local food pantries.  The resulting produce will help to stock these food pantries which get low during the summer months when demand is high on families with children home from school.

Last year at the Oneonta event, 50 volunteers put together 50 buckets and the United Way would like to double that number this year to greatly increase the impact.

These two events are rain or shine since the activity will take place under cover.  Anyone who would like to donate buckets, soil and vegetable plants can contact the United Way at  (607) 432-8006.
