Tompkins County Inmate Found Dead in Cell
A Tompkins County jail inmate was found dead in his cell yesterday morning.
32-year old Travis Yavits was found unresponsive around 3:30 in the morning, hours after he was put there by Ithaca City Court on a larceny conviction.
Investigators say Yavit's death does not appear suspicious and there's no indication of foul play. The cause of death is under investigation with help from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.
