The polls are open and will be open until 9pm tonight.  It's an election day that highlights local government office choices, although there is also a referendum for you to vote on: you'll be voting yes or no on authorizing up to seven Las Vegas-style casinos to be built in New York State.

Concentrating on Otsego County elections: there are seats up for grabs on the Otsego County Board of Representatives, plus voters will decide on whether incumbent Dan Crowell, a Democrat, should stay on as Otsego County Treasurer or if he should be replaced by Republican, Edward Keator Jr.

Here in the city of Oneonta, incumbant Mayor and independent, Dick Miller seeks a second term and runs unopposed for that position.

Regardless of your party or views, make sure your voice is heard by voting today.  It's a right that we need to exercise and not take for granted.  If you are not sure where to vote, see below.
