This Is So Weird It Must Be True

You know the saying "Life is stranger than fiction"?  Trust me, it's true.  You would never believe the crazy news stories I come across on a daily basis.  Today, I found a perfect example of a bizarre but true news story: 55 year old, Gerald Reiter was arrested outside of a Dubuque, Iowa bar on Sunday night with a zebra and a macaw parrot in the front seat of his truck. Reiter was stopped in the parking lot of the Dog House Lounge.  He says he and his girlfriend often take the animals for rides. On Sunday night, they say they took the zebra and the macaw to the bar because it often lets people bring their animals inside. The bar, of course, denies that it ever allows animals inside.  Reiter says the owner told him they were serving food that night and he couldn’t bring a zebra inside the bar. As he went outside to put the animals in his truck, several people were in the parking lot taking pictures. He believes one of those people called police. Reiter claims he realized he was too drunk to drive (I'll bet!) and was about to let a passenger in the truck take the wheel when he was arrested.

I think this whole story just begs for the question: how in the heck does a zebra fit in the front seat of a pickup truck?  I'd love to see a picture of that.
