This Cooperstown Train Ride Proves Dinosaurs Are Fun Not Scary

Looking to do something different with your family? If you have younger kids, especially those who love dinosaurs, here's a very unique train ride to enjoy that is definitely off the beaten trail when it comes to train rides. The Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad is offering up a "Dinosaur Express Train" on two dates only: May 14 and 15, beginning at the train depot in Milford, NY.

On this 2-hour train ride from Milford to Cooperstown and back, guests can enjoy a trip back to the age of the dinosaurs with a few dinos making an appearance on the train. There will be fun games to play along a very scenic train ride through a section of the Otsego County countryside. And of course, there will be some yummy refreshments to indulge in along the way. I think that the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad does a great job of offering a variety of themed train rides throughout much of the year. It's a unique way to spend time with your family or friends doing something different. One of my favorite train experiences out of the depot in Milford is the Blues Express which will be back this summer. This train features great live music with a bar available and of course a gorgeous ride through the surrounding countryside in the evening. There's nothing like it around!

The most recent additional offering at the Milford Train depot is the rail bike rides from Rail Explorers. Rail bikes have become very popular in various locations in New York State and I have yet to try it out but it's on my "fun activities list" for this summer.
