There are so many things we do in Oneonta, but on the other side of the coin, there are potentially more things you just don't do.

What kinds of things pop into your head when thinking of what Oneonta doesn't do? The list is long and distinguished, but I'm just going to focus on a few, dear reader. I'm sure there will be plenty of huffing and puffing about what's wrong and what I missed, but hey, this is just one guy writing.

Let's take a look at what we don't do in Oneonta...

The Speed Limit

Driving in and around Oneonta is a curious thing. We're firmly in a rural area, so we need our cars to take us everywhere. Well, unless you're rollin' in your John Deere combine. There's two speeds in the area, NASCAR or Sunday afternoon cruise. There's no in between. You'll get passed at or slightly above posted speeds just to get stuck behind someone going 10 MPH under the speed limit.

Get Fancy With Our Coffee

This is not Brooklyn, and unless you're hitting the lovely Latte Lounge, your coffee will most likely be put together at home or at a convenience store. It's solid, it's safe, it tastes good, but it's most definitely utilitarian and not very fancy.

Lots of other places have online forums, and there's spirited discussions everywhere, but there's something unique about how we communicate here in the City of the Hills. I've compared notes with colleagues elsewhere and they get wide eyed when looking at our discourse. Whether it's local issues or something as innocuous as pizza, there's always a hot discussion filled with opinions.

Throw Away Cans and Bottles

This is a universal. Doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor or in between, most people save and recycle their cans and bottles. Remember, it only takes 540 returnables to score a 30 pack of your favorite mid range beer. You're welcome. Follow me for more budgeting tips.
