The other day a friend of mine was relaying a funny story to me about how her toddler loves to stick things up her nose when she and her husband aren't looking.  The latest incident involved Cheerios, a toddler's favorite finger food.  Fortunately, this time, it didn't involve a trip to the Doctor to get it out.  You may wonder, why on earth are kids sticking things up their noses?  According to experts, babies put things in their mouth to learn about them and when they become toddlers, they expand on that idea and sticks things in other places.  It's their way of learning and exploring.

What do toddlers love to shove up their nasal passages the most?  According to TodaysParent.com, here are the top 5 items:.

1. Beads: They’re colorful and come in all different colors and shapes so why not?
2. Peas: They’re pliable and easy to shove up there.
3. Cheerios: This one’s obvious since most toddlers eat Cheerios.
4. Marbles: Oh how swirly, smooth and pretty! Perfect for up the nose.
5. Pebbles: They’re readily available.
