Some foods or dishes make for delicious leftovers and then some are so bad, even the dog turns up his nose at them.  Let's face it, not everything gets better with age.  When I think about those food items that I definitely do NOT want to see in my refrigerator the next day, the first thing that comes to mind is any leftover sandwich.  Can you say soggy bread?  Yuck.  Either that, or the bread is hard and stale.  I also don't like macaroni and cheese the next day.  If it's home made macaroni and cheese, the cheese separates and you get pools of oil and cheese curdles.  You can heat it up but it's just not the same as the first time around.  Leftover salad is another one.   The lettuce always gets wilted and the tomatoes get mushy.  I'm sure I could find a way to store it away in the fridge properly so that it would stay fresh but that would require too much work.  I've also noticed that any meat that was cooked well done originally is tough as leather for a leftover.

I went searching for the worst leftovers.  Find out where I ended up.
