The Newest Wacky State Fair Food
State Fairs go out of their way to create awful new food every year that people dare each other to eat. This year, the Minnesota State Fair has quite a selection:
- Lamb testicles. These are made by Holy Land Deli and according to owner Madji Wadi, the testicles will be a big seller just because he's seasoning them with garlic and apparently Minnesotans love garlic. Do they love it THAT much? (Who thinks lamb testicles are just WRONG?!)
- Camel burgers (does camel taste like chicken?)
- Beef tongue tacos (I love tacos but this one's a big "Nope" for me.)
- Bacon ice cream (who doesn't love back but an icecream? Ick.)
- Sweet corn ice cream (that might be palatable. I do this one on a dare.)
- Cereal Killer Ice Cream, which tastes like the milk left at the bottom of a breakfast cereal bowl (Clever name, if morbic but this one is obviously all about the name)
- Fries topped with gravy and cheese curds (that's just a weird combo. Does not compute.)
- Cheeseburger sticks: hamburger, American cheese, pickles and a secret sauce wrapped in pizza dough and served with pickles and sauce. (This one's a winner! The old concept of putting it on a stick still works)
- Chocolate peanut butter cup fudge puppies: Crushed peanut butter cups baked in the middle of a fudge puppy that is dipped in chocolate, layered with whipped cream and a peanut sauce. (There's nothing NOT to like about this one! Bring it on)
