I am a fan of "The Great Gatsby" novel. It was the first book that really made reading fun for me. I haven't stopped since.

When I heard that one of my favorite actors -- Leonardo DiCaprio -- was slated to play Gatsby himself, I was elated. When I heard Carey Mulligan was Daisy, I was again thrilled.

So when Warner Brothers released the trailer this morning, I jumped to watch it. And now I'm saddened.

My initial impression is that Gatsby's parties are far too extravagant. When I read the book, I never pictured a massive mansion whose balcony could fit hundreds of people. I pictured the parties filled with socialites, yes, but not like in the trailer.

I also figured Daisy and Tom to live in a more humble home, but that's not the case here. And the music choice for the trailer was poor. It's the 1920s, jazz, and flappers! The trailer uses a song that's autotuned. I mean, come on!

Tell me what you think!
