Unpopular opinion: just because a word or abbreviation is frequently used in modern day communication doesn’t mean it definitely belongs in the dictionary.
Dictionary.com compiled a short list of words that we carelessly slip into conversations to give ourselves more time to think and, guess what? Instead of making us sound smart, we end up sounding stupid. These are called "crutch" words. You might want to try to stop using the following "crutch" words:
Who knows why, but there are some words that we hear in conversation that make us cringe. I'm not talking curse words, I'm just talking about regular words that wouldn't make anyone raise an eyebrow necessarily, we just don't like the way they sound.
