The New York State Department of Conservation has awarded SUNY Oneonta’s Biological Field Station $2.2 million. Most of the money will be used to pay students to inspect boats and fishing gear with the goal of stopping the spread of aquatic invasive species in area lakes and rivers.
With The Oneonta Susquehanna Greenway Silas Lane Loop Trail, it begins on the transfer station property but once you enter the trail, you very quickly enter a beautifully varied nature trail that has some wonderful highlights.
It was another big weekend for canoe and kayak enthusiasts with the 56th Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta in Bainbridge, the longest flat water race in the United States.
