Each Fall, I tell myself "This is the year I prepare for winter BEFORE it actually happens!". That means, that I'll make sure my car is ready and that I have certain things on hand for the bitter, snowy season.
After Tuesday night's heavy rainfall in Otsego and Chenango Counties, flooding from overflowing rivers and streams caused problems for some commuting area residents, schools and even the Oneonta Country Club.
The rain we've been experiencing this week has been a blessing in terms of raising the Central New York water table but also brings with it flash flood potential and possible dangerous thunderstorms.
Snow along with ice may be hitting our area late this afternoon according to the National Weather Service which has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3pm today through 7am Wednesday, March 4th.
It looks like Old Man Winter's grace period for snow is over. The National Weather Service has issued (subject to change) a Winter Weather Advisory from 1pm today through 6pm Tuesday for Otsego and Delaware Counties.
